Great weekend with friends starting with Chris P from Seattle Washington who just randomly was visiting an old friend in the cotswalds. Dutch beer and an introduction to bubble and squeak.

Was so excited that I would get some adrenalin by whizzing through the air at the Velocity zip wire in the heart of Snowdonia, Wales. This ride is fast building a reputation both within UK and internationally. I have come across several people now that have done this and it is a must.

Ride is 1 mile long, 500 ft high and gets speeds in excess of 100 mph (yes I said in excess). So I set off to Manchester to see Deb and Pip for the first BBque of the summer in Frodsham. Lovely night with a couple of their friends.

I woke up excited by butterflies in my tummy. Packed up and ready to go to find that apparently in Wales there were high winds and ride had to be cancelled. Absolutely gutted !!

What is worse is that they are fully booked in July so for now I have to put my adrenalin rush back until October when I return from Africa. Sad but something to look forward too.

Thankfully it was Glastonbury weekend and that gave me a whole ton of pleasure on the journey home. Lionel Richie sounded amazing and I happily sang along while crawling through the Birmingham traffic.  For once I didn’t have to worry about ruining anyone’s eardrums with my dulcet tones. I decided to catch-up on Kanye to decide what the fuss is about, love R&B and hip hop but this really was not for me.  Added to my growing collection of vinyl with two new purchases which take me right back in time of summers gone.

1. Tribe called Quest – People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm

2. Del a Soul – 3 Feet high and Rising

Long live the Music !!!
